As we continue to expand our community outreach efforts and increase the number of free classes for marginalized writers, we've been thinking more about how we can engage our community members--you all!--in assisting with these efforts. 

As such, we are hosting our very first "Volunteer Incubator" chat on Thursday, June 27, at 6 pm at the Redbud Headquarters. During this chat, we'd love to brainstorm ideas about how you could help Redbud further our community engagement efforts, fundraising, sustainability, and more! Basically, we want to hear from you and work collaboratively to make Redbud bigger, more inclusive, and better!  

If you'd like to attend this event, please fill out the linked Google form with your name and email address. The form also has an optional space for you to share your volunteer ideas with us--please fill this out if you have thoughts!

We will send out a confirmation email about the meeting on June 24.*

What do you want to see from Redbud and what skills/ideas/connections do you have that you'd like to use? To get those ideas flowing, here are some categories we're thinking of:

• Assist with our annual gala: (including helping source a space, catering, plan fun activities)

• Outreach: how can we reach more people, both for our community classes, and the general public?

• Grant and funding opportunities: do you know of grants Redbud would qualify for? Do you know how to write grants? 

• Making connections: do you know of interested people/organizations that Redbud should connect with?

• Content creation: do you have a special or unique writing journey that you'd like to share? Consider writing a guest blog post for us!

• Technology assistance: do you know how we can turn the Redbud Headquarters into a hybrid Zoom space?

• Photography/social media/artistic/business skills: would you be willing to take pictures of Redbud classes or events? Do you know strategies for increasing our social media presence? Do you practice an artistic medium that you think would be helpful in our effort? Do you know BUSINESS and want to help share your skills?

• Other: something we haven't thought of? Share your ideas!
