Some tips on getting your story ready to submit to the Coppice Prize:
We accept stories under 4,000 words. Make sure your story doesn’t exceed this word limit or we won’t be able to consider it for the contest.
Format your story in 12-point font, Times New Roman or other serif font, saved as a Word doc or PDF.
When writing your story, try to strike a balance between uniqueness and legibility.
Pay special attention to the first paragraph/page: simplicity is often better than complexity.
Think about landing the ending.
Make sure something happens in the story.
Make sure to proofread!
